Rouge-gorge

Dedicated to the development and celebration of original creation by NDH Artistic Director Robin Poitras, this project-based company is a foundation for creation, production and touring.

Formally NDH INTEMPCO, Rouge-gorge came into being with Dido and Aeneas in 1990, presented in Regina and Montréal and continues to create new work. In 2000-2001 NDH INTEMPCO co-produced Benoît Lachambre’s L’aberration des traces with his company par b.l.eux. The work was shown in Berlin, Regina, Montréal, Ottawa, and Quebec City. Tedd Robinson’s The Sound A Circle Makes, co-produced with his company 10 Gates Dancing, was presented in Winnipeg in 1999 and at the National Arts Centre in the spring of 2001.

Other past works include:
Sketches for a Sunken Garden performed at the Dunlop Art Gallery in July 2001
Ursa Major performed in Calgary in spring 2001 and the Swift Current Art Gallery in November of 2003
invisible ceremonies performances in March 2002
The Walking Woman and the Wood Cutter performed at Regina's MacKenzie Art Gallery in March 2004

Robin also produced the Pelican Nocturne performances and an astonishing array of exquisite special events.

Robin will present a new Rouge-gorge work in March 2009 at NDH House of Dance.
