Learning & Teaching The Learning and Teaching series features various forms of body work through ongoing professional dance classes to specialty master classes. New Dance Horizons also works with the professional dance community through its Blueprint Series to develop the choreographic skills of emerging artists. In addition, Learning and Teaching features the wonderful Pelican Project. A community based project that has seen NDH collaborate with schools, dance programs, arts festivals, galleries, and artist residencies. This Processional Event is an excellent introduction to dance for communities that are seeking a new and innovative way to explore dance. During the winter months, the pelicans migrate and the procession is led by Regina's famous Rabbits.
From Thursday, November 12, 2009 as a lead up to the Annual Ice and Fire Carnival free dance lessons will be held in the East Tower of the Hill Centre at 12th and Scarth. Bringing a world of dance experience from across the globe, each evening will begin with a free Tango lesson led by Dayle Schroeder and Micheal Milette. For those interested in performing, tango lessons will be followed by rehearsals toward the Tangora Project performance to be featured at the Ice and Fire Carnival . |
