Flex Energetics with Ray Ambrosi Where: New Dance Horizons, 2207 Harvey Street When: Sunday, December 8th, 2019 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM Our training approach draws on the philosophy and methods of “meihuaquan”, an ancient and ubiquitous form of martial arts from north China. The 1.5 hour class of dynamic movement interspersed with meditative static positions is inspired by time-tested martial arts training regimes. The class begins with an invigorating warm-up incorporating breath training, followed by multi-dynamic functional movement in choreographed and improvised movement patterns that rely on low-stance body postures to simultaneously build strength and flexibility. Each section of training focuses on coordinating breath and movement according to an Eastern bodymind conceptualization in which Theory guides Practice. This class is FREE |
