Biographies:
Ashley Johnson is a somatic movement educator and hands-on bodyworker based on Treaty 4 territory (Regina, SK). A Registered Somatic Movement Educator, she is certified in the Mitzvah Technique/Itcush Method and Continuum Movement.
Ashley’s approach blends movement education, touch-based therapy, and creative inquiry. Her background includes formal dance training at Grant MacEwan College and the University of Calgary, along with apprenticeships with somatic pioneers Amelia Itcush and Emilie Conrad. Her work is also informed by studies in injury rehabilitation, nervous system regulation, and mentorship with high-performance kinesiologist Shauna Sky and various martial artists and arts educators.
Since 2011, Ashley has offered somatic movement coaching across Western Canada in clinical, educational, and community settings—including schools, libraries, health centres, and galleries. She helps people develop more integrated, easeful movement patterns by reframing posture, mobility, and strength through a somatic lens.
Ashley sees movement as a way of knowing—where reconnecting with the body becomes both a personal and political act. She maintains a private practice in Regina and teaches through initiatives like New Dance Horizons’ DanceCore and SomaSpheres Summer School.

Kana Nemoto is a certified teacher of the Mitzvah Technique (MT) and Itcush Method (IM). She holds a B.Sc. in Health Science from Japan and moved to Canada in 2009 to immerse herself in MT and IM training. She later supplemented her training with a related M.Sc. Study in Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan to deepen her understanding of movement of the body.
Kana integrates a scientific principle to movement with a gentle, embodied presence that invites curiosity, ease, and connection. Kana’s work also includes exercise coaching and specific hands-on techniques to release muscle tension, open constricted joints, and deepen awareness of how we use our bodies.
Since her certification in 2014, Kana has offered private sessions, group classes, and workshops in Japan, Canada, and Taiwan. Whether in individual or group settings, she tailors each session to meet the unique needs of the participants.
In addition to her bodywork, Kana is a certified SORA hypnotherapist. She offers tools for emotional and mental well-being, complementing her physical work. Through this combination, Kana provides a holistic approach to transformation, empowering both body and mind.
